Redeeming the time

It seems the Lord has been trying to tell me something lately. (And notice I said the Lord, not my husband!) I seem to be wasting an awful lot of time lately which could better be used cleaning house, teaching/playing with BabyGirl, any number of productive things - but I've just been losing track of time. I must admit, some of the lost time has been spent surfing around the Internet, but some of it is just gone - no reason, no excuse, there's just nothing left to show for it - what was I doing standing staring into space? Who knows, it's gone and there's no way to gain it back.

Saturday's scripture reading included: Isaiah 32: 9-13.
Listen, you women who lie around in ease,
Listen to me, you who are so smug.
In a short time - just a little more than a year -
you careless ones will suddenly begin to care.
For your fruit crops will fail,
and the harvest will never take place.
Tremble, you women of ease;
throw off your complacency.
Strip off your pretty clothes,
and put on burlap to show your grief.
Beat your breasts in sorrow for your bountiful farms
and your fruitful grapevines.
For your land will be overgrown with thorns and briers.
Your joyful homes and happy towns will be gone.

And today's reading in "A Woman After God's Own Heart" discussed Proverbs 31:27:
She carefully watches everything in her household
and suffers nothing from laziness.

So, if the Lord's calling me lazy, then I guess I'd better get myself moving and become a productive member of society! Off to clean the kitchen!

I'm so with you on this one! I have to be very careful in how much time I spend online- it can be a huge time-waster. My huz and kiddos can be shoved to the side if I'm not careful, and I definately don't want them remembering me as a wife and mom who was always on the computer.
